March 20, 1997: these newest versions allow you to specify the category for the text.

This is the compression program MAKEDOC, which builds data files for the PilotDOC program. This is version 2. It incudes category control.

MakeDoc and MakeDocJ are programs which prepare files for use with the (excellent) PilotDOC viewer program, written by Rick Bram. If you are running Windows, I recommend you use MakeDocW, written by Mark Pierce, but if you are in any other environment, try the Java version posted here. It should do the trick.

It is early yet. If the Java version works properly, and there is demand, I will document it better.
